A Bit About Me
Born and raised in Connecticut and shaped by my Jamaican roots, I have always been drawn to creativity, community, and connection. Although my early path began in the arts, I found myself consistently working in roles that supported and uplifted others. That journey ultimately led me to pursue social work in 2015.

I began my career as a community organizer and later worked closely with at-risk youth, advocating for resources, stability, and opportunity. Over the past nine years as a social worker (with four of those dedicated to psychotherapy) I’ve grown into a true mezzo-level practitioner, bridging direct support with systemic change. My work lives at the intersection of hands-on community care and the pursuit of equitable policies and programs.

In addition to private practice, I currently serve individuals and families in a Skilled Nursing Facility setting, where I support residents and caregivers navigating complex healthcare systems, difficult transitions, and emotional challenges. Driven by cultural humility, compassion, and the power of storytelling, my mission is to help people heal while contributing to healthier, more connected communities.

I proudly published my first e-book called Future Care Planning: For Ourselves & Loved Ones. This book was created in honor of my grandmother, whose courageous journey from Jamaica to the United States inspires the work I do as a Social Worker in a skilled nursing facility. This guide focuses on helping families prepare for the future through practical steps such as establishing advance directives, coordinating care, and building a compassionate team of support for aging loved ones. It reflects my passion for empowering individuals and families to plan ahead with dignity and confidence.
Developed a mental health blog named Grounded Truth who partnered with The Campaign for Black Men to raise $5,000 in 5 days to assist 120 families Northside of Minneapolis area with household essentials due to experiencing food deserts, riots, and looted stores because of the public response to the George Floyd murder.
As a recent graduate from the University of Connecticut, I participated in a program exchange with Dr. Rebecca Thomas and students from Yerevan State University to conduct qualitative research on Syrian refugees who sought asylum in Armenia from the government during the Syrian Civil War. Interviews were conducted with the refugees and transcribed as references for publication in Remittances: The Impact on Families in Armenia.
Guided by heart. Grounded in grace.
