About the Role
As the Therapist you will provides direct outpatient mental health therapy via telehealth to clients across the lifespan through individual, couples, family, and/or group sessions. This clinician delivers culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and strengths-based care aligned with Heart & Grace Therapy’s mission and values. The ideal candidate is compassionate, self-motivated, and committed to holistic wellness and community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
Provide psychotherapy using modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, mindfulness, or solution-focused therapy.
Maintain timely, compliant, and ethical documentation in the EHR system (e.g., progress notes, treatment plans, discharge summaries).
Coordinate care with psychiatrists, primary care providers, case managers, and other allied professionals as needed.
Participate in supervision and team meetings as required by the practice and state regulations.
Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards as outlined by HIPAA and NASW/APA professional codes of ethics.
(Optional) Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups.
Stay current with CEU requirements and best practices in mental health treatment.
Requirements
License: Active LICSW, LPC, LMFT, or Psychologist license.
LGSW may be considered if under approved supervision.
Education: Master’s or doctoral degree in behavioral health field.
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of DC telehealth regulations and cultural competence standards.
Eligible to practice independently or under supervision in the District.
Must reside or be authorized to provide telehealth services in DC.
Familiarity with Medicaid and commercial insurance documentation standards preferred.
Malpractice insurance coverage (minimum $1M/$3M).
Preferred Skills
Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience (preferred).
Specialized training in trauma, EMDR, grief, anxiety, depression, or family systems.
Experience working with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, or underrepresented communities.
Strong interpersonal skills and professional boundaries.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Comfort with telehealth platforms (SimplePractice, TherapyNotes, or equivalent).
